Join guide Bill W. to explore the Van Buren property at Madera River West on this free spring nature walk. You’ll look for wildlife and bird rookeries, learn about the local environment, and enjoy the early May weather on this approximately 1.5 hour hike (not including travel time). Bill W. has been leading nature walks for the Trust for over 10 years. He has a Biology degree from Fresno State, with a particular interest in life sciences, and has worked for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the National Parks Service in addition to serving as a boy scouts troop leader. We will be meeting at the River Center (11605 Old Friant Rd, Fresno) at 9:00 am and carpooling to Van Buren from there. Hike may be anywhere from 1-3 miles in length. Please dress appropriately for a day outdoors and bring sunscreen, binoculars, and water. Leader will have some loaner binoculars available. This is a rain or shine event, children 7+ welcome.
