This program, themed “Habitats and Interactions,” will take place at Lost Lake Park, located at 16385 N. Friant Rd. Admission to the park is included in the program fee; directions on how to check in once on site are provided in an automatic confirmation e-mail sent when registration is completed. Tentative program overview: Sensory Nature Walk: use different senses on a hike on the Lost Lake nature trail, work with partners to play short observational games along the way, and learn about historic Native American uses of Central Valley lands. Fairy Houses: create your own small imaginary creature and identify its habitat needs, then use natural materials to build a “fairy house” or small shelter/habitat for that creature. Arrowhead Necklace: “hunt” for arrowheads (replicas provided by the River Parkway Trust) and use the found “artifact” and wooden beads to create a necklace keepsake to take home. Snack time: a short break with snacks (provided by us) will be incorporated into the program at some point during the trip. This adventure requires your child to be between the ages of 6 and 9 to participate.
