"Plein-Aire Landscapes of the Valley" Opening Reception

Plein air painting is the practice of creating art outdoors, directly in the natural environment. It emphasizes capturing the essence of a scene, often with a focus on natural light and atmosphere. Visit the River Center Art Gallery to take in the beauty of the local riparian environment through masterfully placed brushstrokes by members of the San Joaquin Plein-Aire Painters group. Observe detailed artwork depicting multiple locations along the San Joaquin River Parkway, some of which you may just recognize, others you will be drawn to explore. Discuss the exhibit with the artists themselves on February 1st for an opening reception. Light refreshments will be provided.
