Jose L. Medina III is a counseling-informed higher education leader and Central Valley native serving at California State University, Fresno. His work spans student affairs, academic administration, and executive leadership, with a focus on institutional strategy, student success, and organizational effectiveness.
He oversees financial operations, graduate funding, and policy implementation, advancing equity-minded, student-centered systems that promote access and support. Jose holds a B.A. in History and an M.S. in Counseling from Fresno State and is pursuing an Ed.D. in Higher Education at St. Cloud State University.
His research explores the persistence of Latino first-generation students. A former CCPA President, current Board Secretary of Central Valley Scholars, and active ACPA contributor, he is committed to mentoring and advancing equitable higher education.
