An upcoming Virtual workshop offers very real-life training in building businesses that make a difference in the community. Fresno Pacific University’s Center for Community Transformation has adapted it’s social business plan workshop into an online three-part series, titled “How to Build Your Social Enterprise.” The project was developed with the help of local entrepreneur and consultant Alex Hussain-Leon. Each session will feature a deep dive into a different part social business: May 13: “Identifying the Problem You’re Solving” May 27: “Finding Customers and How to Talk to Them” June 10: “Delivering a Viable Product/Service, Selling Your Product/Service” All workshop participants will receive practical knowledge and tools to develop their talents and ideas into social enterprises that use business practices to help people, are environmentally sustainable and provide a product or service. Top ideas will have the opportunity to be part of CCT’s Annual Spark Tank Pitch Fest for Social Enterprises located in the Central Valley. Each year Spark Tank awards thousands of dollars in start-up capital and has so far invested over $100,000 in more than 40 businesses.
