The Sound the Alarm. Save a Life. event is part of the Red Cross' Home Fire Campaign effort. The Home Fire Campaign was created with the goal of reducing fire related deaths and injuries by 25% nationwide. The campaign takes a whole-community approach to preparedness by engaging local Red Crossers, Partners, businesses, and community organizations in order to provide free fire safety education, smoke alarms, and smoke alarm installations throughout at-risk communities. This Spring, Red Cross volunteers and our partners will install 100,000 free smoke alarms in high risk neighborhoods nationwide. Sound the Alarm installation and fire safety events will take place in more than 100 communities across the country, providing a lifesaving service in our quest to reduce death and injury from home fires. On Saturday April 28, 2018 Red Cross volunteers and community members will spend the day installing free smoke alarms and educating residents on how to create an escape plan throughout Downtown Fresno. The day will start at Fresno Fire Department, 911 H Street Fresno, CA 93721 Register to volunteer https://www.redcross.org/sound-the-alarm
